Machine Get Past Austin for 3-2 Win
|
Chicago beat Austin at Old Comiskey Park, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Rod Day, who earned player of the game honors. Víctor Reyes picked up the save, his 20th. Chicago is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Roberto Tobías dealt the River Sharks a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with runners on 1st and 3rd and Chicago trailing 2-0, Tobías, the 13 overall pick in the 2023 draft, hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Tobías.
