Guzmán Slugs Machine to 8-3 Win
The Chicago Machine grabbed a 8-3 win over the Nashville G-Strings at Old Comiskey Park. Chicago left fielder Lorenzo Guzmán went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 to earn player of the game honors. Aaron Thrash, the winner, improved to 8-19. He held Nashville to 2 earned runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. The Machine raised their record to 62-98.

Tied up with the G-Strings in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Machine got a boost from second baseman Joaquín López. With the bases loaded, López saw a 2-1 fastball from Dave Huot and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Chicago on top, 3-1.

"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," López told the Chicago Citizen.
