The San Francisco Bandits racked up a win at Bay View Park, bumping off the Maui Tropics, 4-3. Esteban Peña, who started for San Francisco, pitched effectively for his team. Peña, now 6-13, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 3 earned runs. The 4th-place Bandits raised their record to 64-94.
Gustavo Ortíz helped out the San Francisco cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman was 1-3.
"Getting the win feels pretty nice," said Ortíz. "More importantly, I had a good game."
