Kings Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Kansas City Kings wiggled past the Springfield Stars, 3-2, at Kekambas Park. Kansas City pitcher Francisco Morales earned player of the game honors. Kansas City reliever Nick Parks picked up the win, upping his record to 5-5. José Valdéz shouldered the loss. Alberto Bonilla earned the save, his 31st, for the Kings.
Cy Keynes did his part for the Kings, producing a single in the top of the fourth inning. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 4.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Kansas City manager Ernesto Durán.
Kansas City, now 93-60, holds second place in the Continental League Central Division.
