The rain at Gibson Guitar Park did not keep Plymouth and Nashville from finishing their game.
Plymouth beat Nashville on the strength of starter José Martínez's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. Plymouth reliever Pablo Cabral picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Junior Mateo took the loss. Robinson Gonzáles converted his 41st save in 47 tries.
The most important at-bat for Plymouth came in the top of the ninth inning, when pinch hitter Francisco Ibarra stroked a first pitch fastball to left for a 2-run single, putting Plymouth up, 4-3.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Ibarra.
The first-place Rocks, at 99-54, now lead their division by 9½ games.
