Rockets Jolt Mountaineers with Late Rally
|
The Nassau Rockets bested the Beech Mountain Mountaineers, 5-4, at Nassau Grounds. Doug Thompson was named player of the game. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. The Rockets raised their record to 2-0.
Wilson Allen was the walk-off hero for Nassau. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rockets first baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Thompson.
