San Francisco turned a good effort from starter Manuel Rodríguez into a win over the Maui Tropics at Bay View Park. The final score was 5-2. In 7 innings, Rodríguez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Mitsunari Taguchi picked up the save for San Francisco, his 17th of the year.
In the bottom of the second inning of a 1-1 tie, San Francisco shortstop Raúl Bruno grounded out, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put San Francisco on top, 2-1.
"Manuel was throwing strikes, locating well," said San Francisco manager Felipe Díaz.
San Francisco is in 4th place in the National League Western Division with a record of 28-43.
