Stars Win Again, Streak Now at 16
|
Anthony Erickson pitched a gem to lead Springfield to a 6-1 victory over the Austin River Sharks. Erickson, now 7-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. The wins continue to add up for Springfield, with the latest making it 16 in a row.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and two out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Giancarlo Giannini, who is rated as the 39th best prospect by BNN, drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Stars went on to win.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Springfield manager León Gonzáles.
