Multi-HR Game for Rivas in 10-8 Win
The Maui Tropics put one in the win column on Opening Day at Rainbow Stadium. The Tropics defeated the San Francisco Bandits, 10-8. Maui right fielder José Rivas was instrumental in his team's success. He went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3.

One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the fourth inning. Facing San Francisco hurler Manuel Rodríguez, Mike Pearson, who is rated as the 99th best prospect by BNN, drew a walk. The Tropics went on to win.

"We're a pretty talented bunch when we're playing well," said Pearson. "I think we showed that here."
