Hendersonville's Johnston Injured, Out of Lineup Wednesday, September 27th, 2023 The Hendersonville Hitmen were dealt a severe blow when Jerry Johnston was hurt running the bases recently in a game against the Birmingham Steeldogs. After the game, the team trainer reported Johnston might have to spend a lengthy time on the disabled list. Today doctors confirmed it, ruling the 29-year-old catcher out for the rest of the season with an oblique strain. They indicated it would take Johnston at least 5 weeks to heal. Thus far in 2023 Johnston is hitting .217 with 5 home runs, 14 RBIs, 13 runs scored and has compiled a .360 OBP. |
