Pikes, Bruins Confirm Deal

The Pikes and Bruins announced a deal that was completed today. Seattle sent 27-year-old RF Tony Abete to Los Angeles for 25-year-old minor league C Tae-kwon Kwon. Both teams appear happy with the outcome of the trade. The general managers told the Baseball News Network they felt the swap was beneficial for the both teams and the players.
Abete has played in 120 games with a .207 career batting average and 84 hits. He also has scored 56 runs and driven in 52 runs with 17 home runs.

Browns Swap Alomar to Cards for Noriega

Everybody is overjoyed with a trade consummated today by the St. Louis Browns and the Reno Cards. In the deal St. Louis got 27-year-old LHP Luis Noriega from Reno and dealt 30-year-old LF José Alomar to the Cards. The general managers that made the swap are happy and the players are happy, too. One of the GMs commented, "This was a good swap for all concerned."
Lifetime in 673 games Alomar is batting .260 with 144 home runs and 480 RBIs.
During his career Noriega has compiled a 49-75 record with a 5.49 ERA in 181 starts.

C Teddy Bates Landing in Pocatello

Fans in Pocatello ushered in Teddy Bates today as their new catcher. The 32-year-old came to terms with the Boccabellas and will be hauling in $1,350,000 a year over 1 year.
Bates currently has a career .238 batting average with 406 hits, good for 17 home runs, 152 RBIs and 145 runs.
