García Big Deal in Hendersonville: Hits for Cycle Tuesday, August 8th, 2023 It was a special day for Carlos García at Agent 47 Field. Not only did Hitmen beat the New Orleans Looters 11-0, but the Hendersonville center fielder hit for the cycle, too. The 29-year-old García racked up 1 single, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to get his name mentioned in the record book. For the game he was 4-for-5 with 1 run batted in and 3 runs scored. In the words of the New Orleans manager, "He hit everything we threw. There was just no getting him out today." Speaking to the press after the game, García said, "First pitch fastballs, that's what I was looking for today... I got some good looks." Carlos García doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Bartolo González in the 5th, tripled in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. For the year García is batting .273 with 16 home runs, 64 RBIs and 70 runs scored. |
