Kennedy 5-for-10 Against MSL Mississippi
Friday, July 28th , 2056
It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-10 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Stu Kennedy, it came around today.
The 18-year-old third baseman scattered hits all over MSL Pittsburgh Ballpark to pace the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers to a 3-2 victory over the MSL Mississippi Mockingbirds.
MSL Mississippi skipper Floyd Oglethorpe told reporters in the press room that "Kennedy deserves a hat-tip."
"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Kennedy hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."
Stu Kennedy hit an RBI single in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, grounded out in the 11th, grounded out in the 13th, singled in the 16th, flied out in the 18th, singled in the 19th and singled in the 21st.
In his season totals, Kennedy has 9 home runs, .292 BA, .363 OBP, 22 RBIs and 23 runs scored. He has played in 34 games.
