League Suspends Cruz and Laming for Fisticuffs Wednesday, July 12th , 2056 Yesterday at MSL Detroit Ballpark Jorge Cruz and Harold Laming got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the MSL Detroit Elite and MSL Hollywood Shredders. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Cruz will have to sit out 2 while Laming would be given a 4-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. For the year Cruz has hit at a .263 clip with 14 RBIs, 5 home runs and 12 runs scored. To date this season Laming has compiled a 2-6 record with a 3.88 ERA in 9 starts. |
