Thrice Is Nice: Hsi Unloads 3 Homers Friday, July 21st , 2056 Flint Crush catcher Yic Hsi put on a dazzling display of power today at Terriers Ballpark against the Shady Side Zoomies. In the 7-3 Crush victory Hsi penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Shady Side manager John Aston said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 21-year-old had 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Hsi said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Yic Hsi hit a two-run home run off Odwin Koens in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Odwin Koens in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Jing-yu Xiao in the 8th. So far on the season Hsi is hitting .192 with 13 home runs, 28 RBIs and 20 runs scored. He has 41 hits and played in 57 games. |
