Fort Knox Sweeps Athletic Club KC
Saturday, September 9th , 2056
It was a glorious moment for Centennial fans today as Fort Knox claimed the 2056 PL R Championchip title with a 7-6 victory at Ballpark of Baxter.
Jubilant Fort Knox players swamped each other on the diamond after completing a dominant sweep of the Athletic Club KC U-21, as chants of "Thank you, Centennial" reverberated all around the ballpark.
In the losing dugout, sadness reigned. U-21 skipper Andrew Berven told reporters it was "hard to describe" the feeling of losing in the PL R Championchip.
"Your heart is heavy, you are hurting -- it's a very difficult time," he said. "And to be swept is embarrassing. You just want to forget it ever happened."
For the Fort Knox Centennial, it was a season to remember. They finished the regular season with a record of 68-28, good enough for first place in the Premier Low A. Then they topped it off by winning the PL R Championchip 2-0.
