U-21 González and Uruguayans Bennett Suspended for Fight Tuesday, July 25th , 2056 Yesterday at Ballpark of Elkhorn City Vicente González and Bill Bennett got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Athletic Club KC U-21 and Germantown Uruguayans. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that González will have to sit out 3 while Bennett would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. González on the season is hitting .211 with 2 home runs. His stats include 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored. On the season Bennett has 4 wins and 4 losses and a 3.00 ERA. |
