Everett and Thompson Fight, Get Suspended Thursday, June 8th , 2056 After an intense confrontation, both the Cajuns Nick Everett and the Sea Dogs Don Thompson were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Crowley-Maine game. Nick Everett will miss 5 games, while Don Thompson was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Nick Everett commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." This year Everett has hit 10 home runs and posted a .272 batting average. Thompson has made 4 starts so far this year and put up a 0-3 won-lost record with a 7.33 ERA. In 23.1 innings he has allowed 27 hits, walked 9 and struck out 26. |
