Mezzatesta Launches 3 HR for Krewe Friday, August 25th , 2056 Whatever Fernando Mezzatesta ate for breakfast before his game against the Asheville Highlanders today, it gave him some impressive power. The Crescent City third baseman smacked three balls up and out of the park at Field of the Krewe. His home run barrage led the Krewe to take the 12-0 victory over the Highlanders. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 3-for-4, scored 3 times, drove in 5 and put on a display that history will remember. Fernando Mezzatesta hit a two-run home run off Dale Burney in the 1st, hit a sac fly in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Dale Burney in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Rick Behan in the 5th and grounded out in the 6th. This season Mezzatesta is hitting .265 with 58 hits, 13 home runs, 36 RBIs, scored 28 runs and played in 57 games. |
