Player of the Week: Stewart of the Thunder Monday, August 21st , 2056 Jon Stewart must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .556 pace, then the St. Petersburg second baseman finds out he has been selected the top performer and gets the USSL Double A Player of the Week Award. Asked what his hitting philosophy was, Stewart quipped to the BNN reporters, "Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it." It was a good week's work for Stewart. He hit .556 average (10-for-18) with 2 home runs and 2 RBIs. Hitting .266 to date, Stewart has 5 home runs and 21 RBIs. He has played in 79 games. |
