Gerard Hurd Named 3AA's Best Player
Tuesday, October 10th , 2056
At the age of 26, Gerard Hurd of the Richland Rails could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2056 was good enough to win the second baseman the M3L Double A Outstanding Hitter Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .263 batting average this year, as well as a .333 on-base percentage. He played 103 games and racked up 110 hits, 33 doubles, 6 triples, 9 home runs, 54 RBIs and 60 runs scored.
He received 4 first place votes out of a possible 12. Arturo Piña of the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Jean-Paul Fleury of the Arizona Javelina finished third with 3 first place votes.
