Thornton Twirls 2-0 Shutout for Blitzkrieg Friday, May 12th , 2056 The Port Huron Blitzkrieg did little to support starter Mike Thornton against the Monongahela Monsters, but it turned out he didn't need the help. The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Monsters, striking out 3 and surrendering 2 hits. The performance from Thornton allowed Port Huron to escape with the 2-0 win despite an anemic offense. "Nobody came to me and said 'Mike, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Thornton told BNN reporters following the win.
