Hitting Streak Still Alive for Mondragon Friday, September 15th , 2056 The hitting streak for Alaskan first baseman José Mondragon now stands at 20 games, but the Humpbacks dropped today's contest 5-2 to the Tortolita Drummers. Mondragon went 1-for-4 in the game. "Things went well for me personally today," he said later. "I got 1 hit and the streak keeps going. But we didn't win the game." José Mondragon hit a solo-shot off Tony Correa in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th and struck out in the 8th. Thus far this season in 99 games Mondragon is batting .345 with 29 home runs, 83 RBIs and 72 runs scored. He has 125 hits in 362 at-bats. |
