Maldonado Parks 3 HR in the Seats Friday, August 25th , 2056 It was a good day for the Port Huron Blitzkrieg and an exceptional one for Shawn Maldonado. The 31-year-old third baseman sent three bombs out of the park to help the Blitzkrieg beat the Sunset District Fog 6-4 at Fog Park. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Maldonado said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 5 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats. Shawn Maldonado hit a two-run home run off Spencer McCarthy in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Spencer McCarthy in the 5th, struck out in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Peter Jackson in the 10th. Thus far this year Maldonado is batting .153 with 8 home runs, 21 RBIs and 21 runs scored. |
