Molina Makes it Official, Will Retire Saturday, May 13th , 2056 Vermont reliever Vicente Molina won't be back next year. The 36-year-old announced plans today to retire at the end of the 2056 campaign, saying that it was time to call it a career. "I could probably play another year," Molina said, "but I don't have that fire you need to play well. And I'm not going out there on those terms. It's a disservice to the Lake Monsters and baseball in general. There are just too many aches and pains in this old body for me to continue playing." Molina's career stats shape up like this: In 534.2 innings he has struck out 429, walked 170 and saved 0 games while compiling a 33-30 record and a 4.44 ERA. |
