Manager García Gets Walking Papers in Vermont
Tuesday, October 24th , 2056
You can't fire the players when times get tough. António García learned that the hard way today as he was dismissed from his managerial position with the Vermont Lake Monsters.
Citing a need to "shake things up," a team official said it was time to move on.
"We respect what António has done for the club and we thank him for his time here, but we just think the future of the Lake Monsters needs to be handled by someone else and needs to move in a different direction," said club general manager in a prepared statement.
For his part, García remained upbeat about the decision.
"I know it's a business and sometimes you've just got to make a change," he said. "I want to thank Vermont for the opportunity to manage here."
Team officials are expected to announce an interim manager in the next few days.
