Ángel González Rockets 3 Home Runs Thursday, June 22nd , 2056 Ángel González went on an explosive hitting spree against the Nashville Hot Chickens at The Zoo in Syracuse today, launching a trio of blasts to lead the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys to the 15-4 win. The shortstop finished 3-for-4 with 4 runs scored and 7 RBI. "It was just one of those days," González said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Nashville skipper Ward Wilberfoss said González was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Ángel González grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Ed Jenkins in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Ed Jenkins in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Lung Zhou in the 7th and walked in the 8th. So far this season González is hitting .355 with 6 home runs, 31 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has 49 hits in 138 at-bats and a .438 OBP. |
