25-Game Hitting Streak for Bustamante Friday, September 22nd , 2056 Chalk up another one for Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids first baseman Miguel Bustamante. He now has hit in 25 straight games. Bustamante went 3-for-5 today's game at Great Northern Field but saw his club defeated 12-8 by the host Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC. "Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Rainbow Mermaids manager David Lister said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Miguel Bustamante singled in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Currently Bustamante has 26 home runs and a .318 batting average. |
