Bustamante Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Saturday, September 16th , 2056 The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids fell to the Toledo Stingers in Atlantica today, even as 32-year-old first baseman Miguel Bustamante upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Bustamante finished with 1 hit in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Rainbow Mermaids from dropping the 13-1 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Bustamante. Miguel Bustamante flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, struck out in the 6th and singled in the 9th. Bustamante is hitting .312 this year with 23 home runs and 77 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .359, 24 walks and scored 62 times. |
