Hits Galore: Popovic Drills 5 Hits Thursday, September 21st , 2056 Ostoja Popovic exploded for a barrage of base hits today at The Cattle Pen. The Oakland third baseman had a field day in the 10-3 triumph over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Popovic must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Ostoja Popovic doubled in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Isaac Gunner in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
