Colenutt Sensational, 5-for-9 Monday, May 1st , 2056 Dermott Colenutt was at the head of a Caldwell Chiefs hit parade today at Jets Stadium. The 22-year-old went to the plate 9 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Kennesaw Jets that marched off with the 10-9 win. "We didn't have it today," griped Chiefs skipper Dan Fletcher following the game. "Dermott did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching." Colenutt did more than fine, dominating the Jets at the plate during his record-making 5-for-9 performance. "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging center fielder told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." Dermott Colenutt singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, flied out in the 9th, struck out in the 11th, grounded out in the 14th, hit an RBI single in the 16th and flied out in the 18th.
