Athletic Club KC first baseman Alvin Grant thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Athletic Club KC to a 17-5 win over Washington. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Grant said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Grant was 5-for-6 on the day with 6 runs batted in. Alvin Grant hit a two-run home run off Raph Liberato in the 1st, singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jack D. Chaddington III in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Jack D. Chaddington III in the 8th. This season Grant has delivered 74 hits in 338 at-bats for a .219 average with 16 home runs. He is getting on base at a .332 clip and his totals also include 54 RBIs and 43 runs scored. This year Grant has played in 88 games. |
