Led by Bai-luo Kao, the Detroit Elite downed the Cape Coral Hurricanes, 5-2. Kao belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Elite. Andrew Johnson picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 9. On the season, he is now 6-6. Carroll Kelly finished to wrap up his 19th save.
Kao contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Detroit in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Kao took a fastball from Gordon Benjamin and stroked the home run to left. His 20th home run of the season allowed the Elite to leap in front, 2-1.
"No time for flexing," said Kao. "It's always one game at a time."
The second-place Elite have won 4 straight.
