3L AA Championship Game 1 Victory for Avery and Gwinnett
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs powered past the visiting Richland Rails, 6-1, in the opener of the 3L AA Championship at Experimental Stadium today. Gwinnett starting pitcher Brody Avery threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Guinea Pigs now lead the series 1-0.
With two out in the bottom of the second, John Harris barreled up a fastball from Jaime Delegorsa. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Guinea Pigs in front, 4-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Richland manager Eduardo Hernández.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Experimental Stadium in Lawrenceville.
