Mockingbirds Trip Elite, 3-1, in Extra Innings
|
MSL Mississippi Mockingbirds starter Vicente Rodríguez turned in a top-notch performance against the MSL Detroit Elite at MSL Detroit Ballpark. The result was a win for the Mockingbirds, 3-1. MSL Mississippi reliever Lambert Fierant picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Lenny Gapp absorbed the loss. MSL Mississippi has a record of 24-22, placing them 5th in the SL MSL.
MSL Mississippi got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Ricky Aspee. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mockingbirds ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Rodríguez told the MSL Mississippi News.
