Hollywood Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
The Hollywood Shredders topped the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 7-5, in United States Silver League action at The Hollywood Bowl. The game was highlighted by the performance of Hollywood pitcher Ismael Mena. Hollywood reliever Ismael Mena got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Tetsu Gato was tagged with the loss.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Hollywood trailing 5-4, Yuan Mo hit a fastball from Tetsu Gato for a 3-run home run, giving the Shredders the walk-off win.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Mena, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
Hollywood has 3 straight wins, Pittsburgh 3 straight losses.
