Condor Best Leviathan in Pitching Duel
|
The MSL Santa Catalina Condor weathered an outstanding game by MSL Nova Scotia designated hitter Jorge Morales to topple the Leviathan, 2-1. Morales threw 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Luis Medina, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-4. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Thomas Townend earned the save for MSL Santa Catalina, his 2nd of the year.
MSL Santa Catalina used the bat of Jung-joon Chi to capture the win. The first baseman jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Condor ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," MSL Nova Scotia manager Allen Carlson said following the tough loss.
The win elevated the Condor to 25-13.
