Sameno Lifts Lakers to 7-3 Triumph
The MSL Echo Park Lakers beat the MSL Kingston Township Knights, 7-3, at MSL Echo Park Ballpark. Jorge Sameno was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The 18-year old third baseman was a menace to MSL Kingston Township all day. Dermot Bibby, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-6. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 2. Daniel Valdés got credit for the save for MSL Echo Park. It was his 1st of the year.

With MSL Echo Park leading 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth, Zg Bassir hit a 2-run single off MSL Kingston Township pitcher Stéphane Huguet. It put the Lakers ahead 6-3.

"Nice to get this one," said Bassir. "Wins have been hard to come by."

The Lakers saw their record improve to 9-21.
