Mockingbirds Deal Shredders 3-1 Defeat
|
MSL Mississippi right-hander Alex Wicksted pitched his team to victory over the MSL Hollywood Shredders at MSL Hollywood Ballpark. The final score was 3-1. Wicksted, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Lambert Fierant finished the game for MSL Mississippi and earned his 4th save.
MSL Mississippi used the clutch hitting of David Jackson to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mockingbirds ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
Jackson told a MSL Mississippi News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
The win elevated the Mockingbirds to 5-5.
