MSL Mississippi Mockingbirds starter Vicente Rodríguez pitched effectively against the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers at MSL Mississippi Ballpark. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 3-1 win. Getting the save was Lambert Fierant, his 3rd. The loss drops MSL Pittsburgh to 2-6.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Edward Roberson came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing MSL Pittsburgh pitcher Aaron Atkinson, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting MSL Mississippi on top, 2-1.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Rodríguez said.
