Flamingos Stop Battery, 7-4

The MSL Las Vegas Flamingos beat the MSL Charleston Battery, 7-4, at MSL Las Vegas Ballpark. The Flamingos got a fine performance from catcher William Blackwell, who went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Georges Combes. He tossed 92 pitches over 7.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. Joseph Sankey earned the save, his 2nd, for the Flamingos.
When the Flamingos needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Blackwell who delivered. Facing MSL Charleston pitcher Juan Pacheco the bottom of the fourth with a runner on 1st, Blackwell hit his 2nd home run of the year. It made the score 3-1.
"Enjoyed this one," Blackwell told the MSL Las Vegas Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Flamingos go to 4-6 with the win.
