Hurricanes Rally For Late Win Over Kingfishers
|
The MSL Cape Coral Hurricanes scored a tight 4-3 win versus the MSL Pittsburgh Kingfishers at MSL Cape Coral Ballpark. MSL Cape Coral pitcher António Silva held his own in the contest. Norbert Toxopeus recorded his 1st save for MSL Cape Coral. MSL Cape Coral, now 2-0, is setting the league on fire so far.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Alfredo Barrera came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing MSL Pittsburgh pitcher Mike Jolly, he hit a 2-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting MSL Cape Coral on top, 4-3.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Barrera after the game.
