Cattlemen Spoil Opening Day for Oaks, Their Fans
|
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the MSL Oakland Oaks were eager to watch Alexander Akerval square off against Emílio Sosa of the visiting MSL Ft. Worth Cattlemen. In the end, the Cattlemen won the game, 5-1, with Emílio Sosa leading the way. The winning pitcher was Sosa, now 1-0. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5.
MSL Ft. Worth relied on the hitting of Javier Gómez to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cattlemen on top, 2-1. For the game, Gómez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Gómez.
