Ducks Get Past Greenport for 3-2 Win
|
The Greenport Harbor Whales got a sterling performance from pitcher Martino Salazar, but the Long Island Ducks still prevailed, 3-2. Salazar threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Bryan Hall earned the save for Long Island, his 11th of the year. Long Island has now won 3 straight, while the Harbor Whales have lost 3 in a row.
Long Island used a timely hit from Francisco González to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ducks ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," González told the Long Island Herald.
