The Long Island Ducks got a good effort from starter Curley Martha in defeating the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish at Plattsburgh Park. The final score was 4-1. The Puffer Fish, at 21-31, have lost 4 straight games.

The Puffer Fish had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Ducks going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old shortstop Scott Kimsey came to the plate. Kimsey hit a 2-run double on a 0-1 fastball from Plattsburgh hurler Stephen Powell. It was Kimsey's 9th double of the year.
