Thomas slugs 2 home runs to Power Harbor Whales Offense
The Greenport Harbor Whales defeated the Plattsburgh Puffer Fish, 5-3, at Plattsburgh Park today. Leading the charge for Greenport was left fielder Don Thomas. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Tony Pilcher got the win, improving to 4-1. He worked 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 11 and walking 1. Martino Salazar was credited with the save for Greenport, his 11th of the season.

In the top of the seventh, Thomas put his team in front with his 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which came against José Martínez, made it 5-3, Greenport.

"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Thomas told the Greenport Chronicle. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."

Greenport leads the Menard's Low A by 9½ games.
