Tijuana Makes It 7 Straight with 2-1 Win
|
Gilbert Morgan pitched well, but his team, the Long Island Ducks, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Tijuana Toros at Toros Ballpark. Tijuana reliever Nicol Janse got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Gilbert Morgan was tagged with the loss. Millard Washington closed the door for Tijuana, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
Neil Metcalf took Gilbert Morgan deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Toros on top, 2-1. In all, Metcalf had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
"What we get, we earn," Metcalf told the Tijuana News.
With the win, Tijuana pushed its record to 29-16.
