5 Straight Wins for Toros
The Long Island Ducks and Tijuana Toros were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Behind a solid performance from second baseman Neil Metcalf, the Tijuana Toros defeated the Long Island Ducks, 11-3. Metcalf was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Toros. Lonnie Brown, the winner, goes to 2-2. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts over 7 innings.

With Tijuana leading 6-3 in the bottom of the seventh, Metcalf hit a fastball from Jim King for a bases-clearing double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Toros ahead, 9-3.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Tijuana skipper Milton Mathews.

The third-place Toros have won 5 straight.
