2-1 Baby Blues Win over Ducks Evens Season Record
|
In a low-scoring clash between Quebec City and Long Island, pitcher Cristovão Mineiro was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 win. The winning pitcher was Mineiro, now 2-4. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 5. Domingo Gallegos recorded the save for Quebec City, his 2nd of the season.
Norberto Rojas had a big hit for Quebec City in the top of the fourth inning. With Quebec City leading 1-0, Rojas hit a solo home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Baby Blues up, 2-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Rojas said after the game.
Quebec City is now 19-19, Long Island 19-19.
