Toros Reel Off Another Win
The exploits of designated hitter Lonnie Brown, who is tied for 9th in the 3A- in triples with 1, helped the Tijuana Toros defeat the Napanee Express, 5-2. Brown threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Brown, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Tijuana is third in the Menard's Low A with a record of 16-11.

The Toros got a big at-bat from left fielder Tom Gardner. For the game, Gardner was 2-4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave Tijuana a 2-0 lead.
